What’s Being Served At Your Table?
Sabbath Lesson
There’s so many beautiful blogs, Pinterest accounts, Instagram pages, TikToks, etc on the internet. Just looking at them all makes it so easy to become mesmerized and want to copy. While it’s ok to borrow ideas from others and make them your own, you should be watchful and make sure that what’s being served at your table or your platform is coming from you. There’s danger in mimicking too much of someone else. You not only risk getting caught in the mix of things, but also risk the possibility of losing focus of your own purpose. I see so many creators not only wearing themselves out, but risking their health, peace of mind, and even their marriage, family, and relationships for the sake of putting out content. I see countless start off so unique, classy, and even innocent, but by what’s not even the end, they’re showing it all (not in a tasteful manner) or merely copying and pasting what others are putting out.
The number of likes and shares motivate some to go bigger and better, but bigger isn’t always better. I’m not referring to improvements such as improved picture quality, grammar, or growth. I’m referring to what is then being served at your table; your offerings. It’s ok to offer your audience an array of things, but people are hungrier for your God-given calling and purpose. Likes and followers aren’t always metrics of your success. You have to constantly remind yourself of who you are and what’s being served at your table for the people to “eat” spiritually.
Don’t think just because you aren’t an influencer, that you’re somehow off the hook. You have a table as well. Things like your personal Facebook or text messages to people are your table /platform to serve as well. Anytime you like/heart a post or repost/ share, you are serving from your table. So, I ask again, what’s being served at your table?
Happy Sabbath,
