What to Wear: Biker Shorts
W2W│Summer Edition│ Post 1
As I’ve said before, I absolutely love fashion and have been wanting to dabble into it a bit more on She Becomes Her. Now that my kids are on summer break and I have a lot more energy and time, I feel it’s the perfect time to dive into all the things I’ve been wanting to do. I’ve created What to Wear: The Summer Edition where once a month, I’ll be posting snippets of what I’m wearing with a link to the item or an outfit similar since I make most of my purchases in advance leaving many items sold out by the time of the post.
I wanted the first post to be on an article of clothing we can all associate with: biker shorts. We all have at least one pair that we throw on once or twice a week. I only wear them maybe once every two months, but when I do, I get tons of compliments. This post will show you how to wear biker shorts: the summer edition.
Summer Edition │ Blue Biker Shorts
#1 – Poppin’ Colors Only– You no longer have to settle, biker shorts come in an array of colors. This summer is your chance to make your athleisure outfits pop with color; buy at least one pair in a bright color and with so many priced under $10, that’s not hard to do. This will instantly make you stand out in a store full of black biker shorts and leggings. Please note: When buying colored biker shorts, just make sure to buy the thicker ones that don’t show your underwear. You can do this by reading the reviews from other buyers. On the other hand, if you’re like me, I always wear a longer shirt to cover my bum so even if I get a pair that’s showy, no one will see it but me. Here’s my favorites: Blue Biker shorts and Hot Pink Biker shorts; honestly this same seller has the all the fun colors such as lavender, blue, checkered, green, orange, and even navy so if you don’t like the hot pink, search the other colors offered.
#2 – Dress it up. We can’t be basic all the time, dress up your biker shorts by pairing with a button-down collar shirt and pair of braided sandals; to take it up another notch. If you don’t own a button-down collar shirt, you need to purchase one asap. They are closet staples you’ll use over and over again; making it well worth the investment. A button-down truly takes a basic outfit to the next level so it’s def a must have in my book and I’m sure in a lot of other books too. Here’s another one with short sleeves: https://amzn.to/3xmAKeo. My husband recently bought me a super cute pink one that I’ll be posting next week in the next What to Wear post.
#3 – Wear the Print. Printed biker shorts like the ones pictured above don’t have to be saved for fall and winter. You can make them look summery when paired with the right top. Here, I paired my leopard print shorts with a white graphic shirt that has a hint of pink. The black lettering makes this an unseeming good match. Here’s a link to purchase a similar pair on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3x2pCle. Here’s 4 options for matching tops; each seller has multiple options so go through those as well: MTV White Shirt, MTV Black Shirt, Female Empowerment shirt in black, and my personal favorite this white Nike shirt with pink Nike symbol.
I’m also loving this gray leopard print outfit I picked out with gray leopard print biker shorts and a gray tiger shirt with neon stripe.
