War of The Roses

A Gardening Post

If you’ve been gardening for a while, then you understand the war that garden pests have declared on our rose gardens. We have to go to battle for the beauty of the rose. This post will show before and after picture of what a real “war of the roses” looks like. Thankfully, my roses have been super resilient as they come back bigger and better after any pest war.

Before pics of my purple roses. Pretty, right?

As you can see, my roses started out indoors, but after a week or so, they just were not getting enough sunlight so I moved them outdoors which is what they preferred (of course). Notice how the second set of blooms on both purple roses turned a slight pink tint which made them look highlighted. Although, they were beautiful, I preferred the rich purple because the purple made such an excellent gift for my sister who loves the color purple. I still purchased her one, but her well-lit classroom just was not enough light for the rose either.

Now look at the pests on my pink roses in my garden one month later…

The same pest had already made their way to my purple roses as well. This is the damage after a war on my roses. They were left with no leaves or blooms.

However, roses are very resilient. This is my roses already coming back after the “pests’ war”
