Sabbath Lesson: Patiently Waiting on God

Psalm 27:13-14

Today’s lesson was given to me this week in response to my impatience on the manifestation of one of my prayers. For some reason, every day of this week seemed to present a new challenge making manifestation seem so time-consuming and out of reach. However, with each new issue, the Holy Spirit reminded me “against hope, believe in hope ” (Romans 4:18-22) and that’s what I’m going to do.

Although, my prayer still hasn’t manifested, my patience has been restored and in turn, I am able to encourage you who are going through a period of waiting to simply have faith, be patient, and stop worrying. God is going to do what He promised and will do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us (Ephesians 3:20).

However, while you wait, I pray you stop trying to replace your unmanifested prayers with temporary pleasures to get you through each day, week, or month. Immerse yourselves in the process. Immerse yourselves in the temporary pain or unease of waiting. Be patient; “bear the pain or trial calmly and without complaint.” Taking a snippet from Paul regarding the delay in what his hope was (Romans 8:18); he said I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us or what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will give us later. In sum, the Spirit is saying, this little wait time you’re experiencing now and these little birth pains (of giving birth to something new in your life), will be nothing in comparison to what God is preparing for you.

The Holy Spirit truly doesn’t want you to get to your blessing and regret you ever doubted, were of little faith, felt abandoned by God throughout the process (Matthew 27:46), or even for those waiting for marriage and wasted time on other people that you knew weren’t for you simply to appease your boredom. It isn’t fair to the other person to be used and/or strung along with false hopes.

During your waiting period, the Holy Spirit wants you to “be strong, take heart, and wait for the Lord (Psalm 27:14). Don’t doubt God and when you’re feeling hopeless, still believe in hope!

God bless!!!
