Have You Tried It? Martha…
Today, I’m presenting you with yet another store-brought dessert that will save you time and energy in the kitchen. This item is brought to you by Martha Stewart Kitchen. We all know Martha Stewart is not one to put her name on just any product especially one that isn’t up to par. With that said, when I spotted these Martha Stewart Kitchen desserts, I just had to try them. I purchased the carrot cake and the brownies.
No need to turn on your oven for this one, this carrot cake is thaw and serve. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and intact it thawed. The cake is full of flavor and has a really good creamy icing. It’s one layer, light, and somewhat addictive. Thinking back, I think I ate the cake by myself save for 2 slices that my daughter and husband ate. I was really looking forward to the added pineapple but didn’t really taste it. The shredded carrots are visible which my husband loved. The longer it thaws, the better it gets imo. Be sure to remove the plastic before thawing as the icing will stick to the plastic the longer it thaws. My husband and I both give it a 4/5 stars. We both enjoyed it fairly well and will purchase it again. Note: Contains Nuts.
The brownie warms up in about six minutes. I didn’t preheat my oven, so I added 9 minutes to that time. Why nine minutes? I have no clue, but that was a mistake. The edges burned a little. Yes, I burned a quick heat-up dessert (LOL-ridiculous!), I didn’t think they knew what they were talking about. I suggest following the directions and preheating your oven and leaving it in for the time stated ONLY. The brownie truly tasted like it was freshly baked from my oven; the texture was really good. Because of how the brownie looked on the box, I thought there would be a fudge icing included to spread over the brownie, but that’s just the way the brownie looks on the box and in person. After trying it, the brownie doesn’t even need icing anyway. It’s great with vanilla ice-cream. 4/5 stars
Overall, for these to be pre-packaged frozen desserts, I’m truly impressed with the freshness and the look once they’re ready. I do plan to purchase the Martha Stewart Apple Crisp as well.
